Job Summary

The Product Development Intern will be responsible for assisting in the research, development and commercialization of new and improved Skin and Hair Care products. He/ she must be a hands on, team player who can work well in the lab as well as present technical subjects/ health science to others, including marketing.

Qualifications

EducationMust be currently enrolled as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student majoring in chemistry, biology or other healthcare science from an accredited university.  Emphasis in Chemistry preferred. 

Experience:  Experience using laboratory equipment, chemicals and personal protective equipment.   

Professional Skills:  Excellent verbal and written communication skills.    

Role Specific Competencies: Highly organized and detail-oriented with time management skills.  This position requires extensive use of computer equipment.  Must have a demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft business software to include Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.   

Special Requirements:  Standing, bending, lifting required, not exceeding 25 lbs.  Position is based in Chattanooga, Tennessee at Chattem’s corporate office. 

Session Dates: 

Fall 2017:  September 11, 2017 – December 22, 2017

Spring 2018:  January 2, 2018 – May 4, 2018

This is up to 28 hours per week assignment.
