Job Summary  

The procurement function enables the Chattem strategy by leveraging supplier markets and delivering added value in collaboration with internal clients and Sanofi’s regional/global procurement organizations.

Global Procurement designs and implements procurement strategies per category aligned with the business LRPs through a worldwide network of lead buyers and category managers.

These units have a common goal of business partnering, managed at strategic and operational levels, designed to set collaborative and innovative relationships with the business and supporting functions.  To boost procurement efficiency and performance, the procurement organization fosters the right level of globalization through a category management oriented operating model.

The Senior (Lead) Buyer develops and is responsible for implementing sourcing strategies, as well as optimizing Procurement for his/her Category. His/her expertise helps improve efficiency/performance while meeting the needs of internal clients and the business, in accordance with the company’s Procurement processes, policies and procedures.  Procurement responsibilities may include strategy development, relationship management, contracts, negotiations, selection process, pricing/financial management and tactical execution processes.  Overall activities would be in collaboration with Project Management, Quality, Product Development, Product Supply, Finance, and other support functions.
